Junior Legion Baseball Coach Announcement

The Moscow American Legion baseball program has named Scott Linja as the B League head coach for the 2021 season.

Linja, an engineer from Clarkston, is a University of Idaho graduate who helped revive the school's club baseball team in his time at the UI. He played high school baseball from 2006-2009 at Burbank (Wash.) High School and was a junior varsity assistant coach for a short stint at Burbank after graduation.

The B League Blue Devils, the younger of two teams chartered by American Legion Dudley Loomis Post 6 in Moscow, is composed of players age 13 to 16 and is expected to play more than 30 games during league and tournament play this summer. Last year's B League Blue Devils went 16-11.

The A League Blue Devils, led by returning coach Stan Mattoon, went 18-4 in a COVID-19 shortened season in 2020 coming off a state tournament appearance in 2019.
